Indian classical music and Western/produced music are usually taught as two separate worlds. They have the same fundamentals and seeing the connection changes how you listen forever.

You don't need years of training to understand music. You need nine good weeks, one live session at a time, from people who've spent their lives inside it.

Daughter and disciple of Padma Vibhushan Dr. N. Rajam, and a recipient of the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award from the President of India. Dr. Shankar has spent her life inside the Indian classical tradition — and has taught thousands of students worldwide how to actually hear it.

An MSc graduate in Digital Composition & Performance from the University of Edinburgh, Mahesh brings cutting-edge music production and Western music theory into direct dialogue with classical Indian tradition — bridging two worlds most people never see connected.

QUESTIONS

Before you register

Do I need any musical background to join?

None at all. This course is built for people who've never played an instrument or read a note of music — the entire point is to make how music works accessible to everyone.

Is this course live, or pre-recorded?

It's fully live, online, once a week. You'll be learning directly with Dr. Sangeeta Shankar and Mahesh Raghvan in real time.

What's the difference between the general fee and the student fee?

The course is ₹11,000 for general registration. College students can join the same live batch at a discounted rate of ₹5,000 — just bring your valid college ID at registration.

Does this lead into the Finishing School or performance training?

No — this course is intentionally separate. It's designed purely for music appreciation and understanding how music works, not as a pathway into performance training. If you're looking for that path, ask us about our other programmes.

Why only 50 seats per batch?

We keep batches small so the live sessions stay genuinely interactive — questions get answered, not lost in a crowd.
